There weeks ago me and Angus.W. made a cope of a reading slide show about the environment.

 

This  is the problem that we should stop littering. The solution is we can stop littering and save the fish.

Wild fires

Did you know that within 100 years, rainforests could be completely wiped out! This is because of something called deforestation. Deforestation is a huge problem in our world, so we need to talk about ways we can fix it. 

 What the problem is: 

Forests are on 30% of the Earth's land but humans are cutting them down for lots of different things. Deforestation is when humans cut down trees and thyme trees are dying. 

How can we fix it: 

Palm oil is a very versatile ingredient and can be found in nearly everything! 

So can we stop deforestation and do we need palm oil? We can not buy things with palm oil in it to stop deforestation. 

The depressing thing is that is bad for the earth that the trees cant throw h20 in to the atmosphere

In conclusion we should stop wild fiers  because some animals  habitats will be destroyed!

The Dump Visit

On Friday 21st October Room 2 went to the dump.

Some parents  came to help the parents were Jackie, sarah ,shelly,.

The instructors name was Georgina she was there to help .

 I was very grateful that the the parents came to help. 

My favourite part was when i mixed the worm tea with water.

Emma Twigg

 Emma Twigg  came to NBC to tell us about her Olympic rowing corer. 

The Kapahaka preformed tahopotike (a haka ) it was great. Emmas daily routine is 2 hours on the water, then the gym.  My favourite part was preforming  kapahaka .

The Boy With Wings

 W.A.L.T  Reflect on our experiences 

The senior syndicate went to the hall to see a play  The Boy With Wings .

The boy dreamt of his Grandma with wings, when he woke up he saw a flock of birds he followed  them. 

So he set off on an adventure  to find his treasure (water)  he followed  the birds that led him to sea.

 Emma Twigg wins gold  in the Tokyo olympics Friday 29 july 

Twigg was behind everyone, and out of no were she came back in. Unexpectedly a fish jumps out of the water 

and joins the competition.

Emma Twigg began rowing in 2001. 

For the Beijing rowing cup 11 in 2019 with a new coach.Championship had fantastic results.

 During Emma's stellar rowing she has also completed a number of qualifications.

 

In conclusion she is a great rower and we can't wait to see her again at the Olympics.

Billionaire Boy

W.A.L.T Write a book review

 ‘Have you ever wondered what it would be like to have a million dollars, or a billion. or how about a trillion, or even a gazillion?

 Meet Joe Spud.’

 Billionaire Boy is a book that we read last term and it was great  because you had to do some critical thinking while reading. 

David Walliams was born on 20th August 1971 in Merton, London. He is 49 years old and is the author of many books including Billionaire boy. He has written more than 40 books. 

The story is about a 12-year-old  billionaire named Joe Spud, who lives with his Dad, Mr Spud, who made money out of a simple toilet paper roll. The Spuds live in a very large mansion that cost more than 50 billion dollars which is not much at all for Mr Spud because he is a trillionaire.

The main character is Joe Spud, He got money by having a birthday. He got 1 million dollars for just having a special day. He has a Formula 1 car that is the only one in the world. But of course, no one knows that because he has no friends.

I thought that this book was pretty good because it was interesting. I rated this book 3 and a half stars. Maybe you should try it and  see if you like it.

On Monday 10th of May the senior syndicate went to a red zone , the first activity was eating rice the was like porridge.

The second activity was building a hut that can withstand any weather .

 

I liked when we had to hide from each other like we there were people trying to get us.

The third activity was trying to get your friend to the other side of the course my friend was Tai.

The forth activity was doing  this language thing, you had to fill out a form in mandarin it was really hard.

This is what happens to refuges 

but when they get saved and go back to the home country
